Find The Right Software

Before you even get started on creating your schematic design, you need to have the right software that comes with a schematic designer. There are many companies that offer this including Altium who have a great tool that can make the process much easier. Make sure that you download the right software for the project and consider using a free trial if you aren’t ready to commit.

Starting The Project

The first step in the process is to open up a new project and create a new file. This will help you to get the blank canvas that you need to get started. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to add the component library to your project. This is relatively easy to do but if you are struggling then you can find a guide online.

Add The Central Component

The first step is to add the initial ICs into your design. You’ll go through this process by dragging and dropping the various components onto your canvas. It is always a good idea to start off with the central component.

Edit The Values

Once you have a few components on there, you might want to think about editing their names. You’ll want to number the parts based on their purpose in the PCB and also their designator. During this stage, you should also think about placing some reference components on your schematic. This will differ depending on your PCB so make it personal to what you want.

Adding Grounds

The next step is to add the grounds to your schematic. This will need to be done to the specific pins in your circuit. You’ll need to have grounds on there so make sure not to miss out this step.

Keeping Wires Clean

Finally, you’ll need to make sure that your components are connected to their counterpart using wires. You should make sure that your wires are laid out carefully and that you keep them clean. Most packages make adding wires easy so you should be able to figure out this just fischematic designne.
