The end of 2018 is near, and everyone is looking at 2019. What new can 2019 bring? Will there be many new drone releases? What drone is most expected to come in 2019? The answers to those questions try to find in this article about the drones and new year 2019.
Expecting Bigger Drone Performance
If we are looking at history, we can see that so far every year we have drones that have higher performance. The flight time of drones is rapidly increasing, and at the moment a decent DJI drone can do 30 minutes in the air. We are expecting that the barrier of 35 minutes in the air will be broken and that the new DJI drone will be capable of going near or maybe if we are extremely lucky over the 40 minutes.
Higher flight time is extremely important because events are recorded on the fly and if you don’t have enough of the battery, the event may finish while you are changing the battery. Because of that, it is extremely important to get to one hour flight time on commercial drones as soon as possible. I am sure one hour flight time will not happen in 2019, but in the near future, we may see that desired performance.
Controlling range is a very important factor while recording events as well. You want to be able to travel far without risk of losing the drone control. So far range on solid drones are good, around 5 kilometres is more than you will need, but some specific events want fast travel, and if the event goes out of the range, you will need to move and follow the drone. This is not good while filming and longer control range on the drones is expected in 2019.
Most Expected Drones in 2019
DJI Inspire 3
Inspire 2 is still one of the best drones you can buy and if the DJI decides to release DJI Inspire 3 then we can expect something marvellous. DJI Inspire 3 will be a premium drone which not all people can afford, but those who can afford will enjoy the extreme performance as well as the high-quality camera.
DJI Phantom 5
Mavic Pro 2 was recently released, and we just love it. Higher performance and better camera are what we needed on DJI Mavic Pro. But the DJI Phantom 5 can bring a drone performance to a whole new level. Old Phantom 4 Pro is going over 30 minutes of flight time, and the new Phantom 5 will sure break that barrier. Phantom 5 will surely have a better camera with a whole new high advanced lens.
DJI Spark Plus
We hear rumours about new Spark coming to the market, but these are only rumours because DJI released many drones and DJI Mavic Pro 2 is a decent pocket camera drone, and maybe the market is not requiring another picket drone. But if the price for DJI Spark Pro will be better than the DJI Mavic Pro 2 then maybe we will see DJI Spark Pro hit the store shelves.
There are some rumours that the DJI is working on a fixed-wing drone which can be used for industrial purposes. This drone will be capable of high range up to 120 kilometres and will be able to stay in the air for one hour. How will this work and if DJI will release this model in 2019 is unknown, but there are rumours that Vtol may happen in 2019.
Business and Industrial Drones
We can expect some new company to get into this field because DJI is dominating the commercial drones and many of the DJI commercial drones can be used in industrial and business field because there is no better alternative. Because of that, we may expect some company is entering the drone business and giving us a whole new model for business use.
2019 will be an interesting year in the drone world, lots of new drones will come, and we are really hoping that the dominance of DJI will be challenged by some new company and their great drones. But until then I am afraid we are going to stick with the DJI and their new drone releases.
